Google restored deleted websites

April 30th, 2007 by admin

It seems that the search engine giant - Google is doing some restoration on its database. I just found out earlier that they are scrambling to restore deleted homepages after a maintenance plan went awry. Internet news junkies and content addicts had their “Personalized Homepages” complete with personal links, notes and tabs temporarily deleted for most of Thursday. Google representatives say they are making “good progress” in restoring the pages and say that most users should be able to access their custom homepages today.

I have read that users of Google’s Gmail can create a custom Google search page by clicking “Personalized Homepage”, and that’s pretty neat actually. The top of the custom page is your plain vanilla Google search box, but users can add various gadgets like the Date and Time along the bottom. Users can even replace the bland white background with various themes like beach or kids settings.

Effects of Good Presentation to a Website

April 27th, 2007 by admin

The most important factor of a website are content and design. Everyday we see a lot of websites, we all see enough web sites to decide which ones are appealing and which ones are not. Some people are attracted to Flash, some are attracted to a lot of color and some do not like a lot of color. I myself don’t like flash, yes they are pretty good in a website but it sometimes slow the loading process. This kind of discomfort should always consider by a webmaster.

If a web viewer feels eye discomfort they will not be able to process the copy effectively and most of the time they will just leave. The colors can be eye-catching and maybe a little crazy as long as the copy is clearly readable and the navigation is obvious.

Never forget the importance of colors to a website design, this trigger the moods of your viewers. Learning to use the correct colors to trigger the correct response can enhance your website and have your visitors becoming regular customers or guests to your website. All of this can be achieved with graphic design.

Psychology and Web Design

April 27th, 2007 by admin

When we create and designing a website we must also add some psychology in it. We must always consider these things, color design and presentation, the navigation of the site, the contents, and the search engine optimization strategy. There are plenty of steps or ways on how to achieve the success of a website. The first step to get website visibility is to advertise your website on the ad works of the search engines. Even though you have already establish a website but it lacks web visibility, then there’s no revenue you can expect with your site.

The second step to get website visibility is to advertise your website through blogs. You can reach large number of readers by promoting your website on the blogs that concern the type of service or products that you offer. You can also submit to at least a hundred directories. There are free and some have premium charges.

The third step is to make your website search engine optimized. The key to website visibility is to make your website rich in keywords so that your web site has a good ranking on a search engine results page. Search engine optimization is always a puzzle to any webmaster, there is no such thing as technique or strategy. Nobody knows (except search engine programmers) the real algorithm or what is behind Google’s search engine protocols. The best SEO technique I know is content. Good content means good visibility to search engine bots. Revenues to follow.

Computer-Based Blog Networks Deals

April 27th, 2007 by admin

Blog network deals today are spreading like a wild fire. The blogging industry skyrocketed everyday. Most blogs are search engine optimized that’s why advertising using a blog network is far better than using the old methods. There are two kinds of blog networks the free and paid service. It is preferable to use the Paid blog network like the above mentioned one as the quality of services are pretty nice when compared to the free services. Paid services are better because the reviewers do more deep reviews as well as detailed informations on the website being reviewed. Free blog networks are usually available because they only need contents rather than income from it.

How to Avoid Google Bans and Sandboxing

April 27th, 2007 by admin

No webmasters want their website to fall into the pit of Google. Once booted by Google it’s really hard to reinstate a website. The two common worst scenario you would encounter with Google is sandbox and website ban. You don’t want to end up to either of these. Sandbox process could take up to 6-8 months, which could be against your plans causing frustration to webmasters. The best thing to do if you’re sandbox is to build a better linking strategy so that the Googlebot spider would find your pages easier while it’s in the sandbox instead of repeatedly submitting your website every time. If you’re banned by google you better go to this section google.com/webmasters/ then make a reinstatement.

Tips to Get Repeat Web Traffic

April 27th, 2007 by admin

I really want to write an article how to increase one’s website traffic, unfortunately I’m not that good so what i did was I do some researches and found this important as well as informative things to do if you own a website. These are actually commong practices but most oftenly neglected by website or webblog owners. Hope this will help, good day!

1. Update the pages on your website frequently. Stagnant sites are dropped by some search engines. You can even put a date counter on the page to show when it was last updated.

2. Offer additional value on your website. For affiliates and partners you can place links to their sites and products and ask them to do the same for you. You can also advertise their books or videos, if these products relate to your industry and are not in competition with your own product.

3. You can allow customers to ‘opt in’ to get discounts and special offers. Place a link on your site to invite customers to ‘opt in’ to get a monthly newsletter or valuable coupons.

4. Add a link to your primary page with a script ‘Book Mark or Add this site to your Favorites’.

5. Add a link ‘Recommend this site to a Friend’ so that the visitor can email your website link, with a prewritten title, “Thought you might be interested in this”, just by clicking on it.

6. Brand your website so that visitors always know they are on your site. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans and always provide a ‘Contact Us’ link on each page.

7. Create a ‘Our Policies’ page that clearly defines your philosophy and principles in dealing with your customers. Also post your privacy policy as well so that clients know they are secure when they visit your site.

8. Create a FAQ page which addresses most of the doubts and clarifications about your product or your company that are likely to be asked. This helps to resolve most of the customers doubts in their first visit to your site.

8. Ensure that each page on your website has appropriate titles and keywords so that your customer can find their way back to your site if they lose the book mark.

9. Never spam a client, who has opted for newsletters, with unsolicited emails. Later if they decide they want to ‘opt out’ of the mailings, be sure you honor their request and take them off the mailing list. They may still come back if they like your products. But they will certainly not come back if you continue to flood their email box with mails they no longer wish to receive.
